What We Believe

The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error, in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority of all Christian faith and life.(II Tim. 3:16: I Peter 1:20-21)

In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1: Mt.28:19:Acts 5:3-4: John 10:30)

That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures.Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on high, He is now our High priest and Advocate. (Mt. 1:18-24; John 1:14; I Tim 2:5; Phil. 2:5-8; I John 2:1-2)

That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.(John 16:8-15)

That man was created by God in His image but that man fell into sin and thereby incurred to himself and his posterity, not only physical death, but also spiritual death. As a result, all human beings are born "dead in trespasses and sins," (Eph. 2:1) with a sin nature, and under the just condemnation of God. (Gen. 1:17; John 3:5; Titus 3:5; Eph. 2:1-3)

That the perfect sinless life of Jesus Christ, His shed blood, and His resurrection provide the only basis for the justification and salvation for all who believe, and that only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Spirit and thus become the children of God. (John 1:12; Eph. 1:7; Rom. 3:24)

That water baptism soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life, and that the Lord's Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner, the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; that all true believers, and only true believers, should share in it. (Mt. 28:19; I Cor. 11:23-26)

That all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body, the Church (I Cor. 12:12-13) of which Christ is the head. (Eph.1:22;4:15;Col.1:18)

That the Church will be manifested by local assemblies as defined in the New Testament Scriptures. That believers are directed to associate themselves together in local assemblies. (Hebrews 10:23-25)

That Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs. (Eph. 5:23; Acts 6:1-4)

In the personal and premillennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (Titus 2:13; I John 2:28: II Peter 3:11,12)

In the bodily resurrection of the dead: of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. (I Cor. 15; I Thess. 4:15-18; Rev. 20 Matt 25:46)
